BEAMQR TERMS OF USE Last updated 19 September 2026 Copyright BeamQR, August 2025 onwards WHAT BEAMQR IS BeamQR moves a file from one person to another. You choose a file, the site gives you a short link and a QR code, and anyone you send that link to can download the file until it expires. There is no account, no sign up and no password. BeamQR is a way to send something. It is not a place to keep it. Every file is given an expiry the moment it is created and it is deleted when that time is up. Always keep your original. USING THE SITE MEANS ACCEPTING THIS Uploading a file, opening a link or downloading a file means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. The site is offered to adults. ACCEPTABLE USE Use BeamQR to send files you have the right to send, to people you mean to send them to. Do not use it for anything unlawful, anything that could cause harm or distress to another person, or anything you have no right to share. Do not use it to pass on somebody else's personal information without a proper reason. Do not send software or files designed to damage or deceive. Some file types are refused outright. Programs, installers, shortcuts and disk images are not accepted, because they can run instantly on the computer that downloads them. Do not try to break, overload or work around any part of the service, and that includes guessing links, scripting uploads or downloads, and getting past the browser check or the upload limits. THE FILE IS YOURS AND SO IS THE RESPONSIBILITY Whoever uploads a file is responsible for it. That covers what the file holds, whether it was theirs to send, and who they send the link to. A link is the key. Anyone who has it can download the file and can delete it. Send it only to the people you mean to reach, and treat a link posted in public as a file handed to the public. You keep whatever rights you had in your own file. BeamQR takes none of them and needs only the permission to store the file and hand it back on request until it is deleted. Every download is handed over as a plain attachment, so no file can open or run on beamqr.com itself. Once a file is saved on your own device it behaves like anything else you were sent, so only open what you were expecting and only from somebody you know. FILES EXPIRE, AND SO DO LINKS You pick the expiry when you upload, from seven hours up to thirty two days. Ten days is the default. You can also set a download limit, and the file is deleted when either condition is met first. Once a file has gone, its link stops working for everybody at once. There is no recovery and no undelete. This is the point of the service. ANYONE WITH THE LINK CAN DELETE THE FILE Every download page carries a delete button. It needs no account, no password and no reason. The person who uploaded the file can use it and so can anybody they sent the link to. Pressing it removes the file straight away and the link stops working for everyone holding it. This cannot be undone. WHAT BEAMQR CAN DO BeamQR can remove any file, withdraw any link and refuse any upload at any time, without notice and without giving a reason. It can limit how much one internet connection uploads in an hour and can stop a connection uploading for a period. The service can change or stop entirely at any time. WHAT IS HELD, AND FOR HOW LONG The file is held until it is deleted. After that it is destroyed. The address an upload came from is turned into a one way hash before anything is written down. The address itself is never stored. Ordinary use of the site sets no cookies and involves no tracking of any kind. Cloudflare hosts the service and handles connection data in the normal course of carrying traffic and keeping the network up. Cloudflare can also take down a link or a file that it flags as unsafe, for whatever reason and whenever it likes. NO WARRANTY The service is provided as it is. BeamQR does not promise that it will be available, that an upload will succeed, or that a file will still be there when somebody comes to collect it. Again, keep the original. To the fullest extent the law allows, BeamQR is not liable for loss of files, loss of data, loss of profit or any indirect loss arising from use of the service. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Keeping your own copy of anything you send is your responsibility alone. LAW These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. CHANGES These terms can change. The date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the new version.
